Summer 2011 issue out June 15th!

Several days ago Glam Rock Magazine was seeking images from designers and photographers to contribute to their “Goth” style article to be featured in the upcoming Spring 2011 issue. I submitted the photo from my recent photoshoot with ShelbyJean, Lex Ewing, and DividingME. To my surprise the photo got selected! Skeledress featured in Goth Fashion Feature

As a part of my prize package for receiving Honorable Mention for this year’s American Sewing Guild Creativity Contest, I got a feature in this month’s copy of Notions Magazine. So which one of these things is not like the other?

Notions Magazine - Fall 2010

This morning I woke up to a phone call from the Simplicity Pattern Headquarters informing me that my design received Honorable Mention for the American Sewing Guild Creativity Contest. I have been a member of the American Sewing Guild for two years now for the sole reason of entering this contest. Last year I did not have enough time to submit my entry, this year I entered the contest and won!

Every year, nine Simplicity patterns are chosen and there are several categories to enter. I chose pattern #S2659 and the Most Creative Use of Fabric category. I made my dress out of cream colored linen and spray painted through a doily to create my own material. For a finishing touch, I added a black satin bow.

My prize is a feature in the Fall 2010 issue of Notions Magazine, a feature on the ASG and Simplicity Patterns website, a certificate redeemable for five Simplicity patterns of my choice, a one-year subscription to Threads Magazine, and the Spring and Autumn issues of the Simplicity Pattern Catalog.
