Here are unpublished photos from the set I did for Glam Rock Magazine. Don’t forget to buy your copy of the Winter 2012 issue tomorrow!

As a thank you for being a judge for the Glam Rock Magazine Model Awards I received a 4-page spread in the magazine! I got this news a little over a month ago. In that time I organized a team of 9 people (including myself) to collaborate for the photoshoot. I created 4 looks for the editorial consisting of a tulle, lace, chiffon, floral prints, and burnout fabric. My designs were photographed by Barry Underhill, styled by Erin Shorts,  and modeled by Holly Watson. Custom wigs were created by Coco Coquette and Sabrina Lotfi provided makeup. Accessories were loaned by Doublespeak, Shalottlilly, and Myra Simmone.

The magazine will be released on January 15th. For the time being enjoy some behind the scenes photos!

This past week has been hectic! I have been busy with fittings, a photography workshop at Juju Foto Factory, and the fashion spectacle “Beautiful Monsters” presented by Coco Coquette. My “monster” was the Siamese twins brought to life by Danielle Casey and Maia McCoy. They danced to The Pierces “Secret” wearing turquoise wigs provided by Allyson Garro of Coco Coquette. This fashion show was unlike anything I have ever done. The show was hosted by the infamous Chris Lane dressed as the Wolfman while 12 iconic and mystical “monsters” danced. The audience got ravaged by zombies, bit by a vampire, and received a visit by the Grim Reaper. This costume was the most challenging design I have ever created. I had to take into account that two models had to fit in one costume AND dance. The skirt was made from 11 yards of striped fabric. I cut the fabric into 4 tiers, which ended up being 55 yards of fabric but if you include the waistband and lace the skirt totaled in 75 yards of fabric!

Austin’s best wig boutique Coco Coquette will be hosting a fashion show at the ND (501 Brushy) on Tuesday, October 25th. This is not an ordinary fashion show, Coco Coquette’s fashion productions combine fashion, wigs, and performance into one big glittery spectacle – think Flashdance with wigs! Unlike other fashion shows, they have done away with models taking a cursory trip down the runway – instead they use dancers and performers to work it out for an entire song while wearing an over-the-top show stopping piece by local designers.  This year’s Halloween spectacle is titled “Beautiful Monsters!” My “monster” is a Siamese Twin, meaning I have to create a look for two models to fit into and dance in! I have one week left to complete my costume and a fitting on Thursday. My models have been busy rehearsing their routine while I have been busy sewing.
