Oh Brother!

For Christmas I received a brand new serger. I ended up upgrading my machine to a Brother 1034D on New Year’s.  I have yet to master this machine but it has some great features like the F.A.S.T.  threading system and it came with a blind hem foot. All I can say is thank God for YouTube instructional videos and sewing forums.

Artvoice Article

Christmas Eve I was contacted by a fashion writer for Artvoice, a weekly Buffalo newsletter focusing on arts, entertainment and news. They recently added a fashion section and are working on a series of articles about emerging designers focusing on latest collections, design philosophy, background, future plans, and ties to Buffalo.

Last week an interview was scheduled and I chose Spot Coffee as the meeting place. It was probably the worst meeting place to pick since they are renovating the building. Even though baristas were yelling order numbers and construction noise was terrible, the interview went on. Luckily the writer had a tape recorder with her so she could catch everything.

The interview officially hit newsstands yesterday, but you can also read it online.

Thank you Morgan and the staff at Artvoice for making my Christmas and New Year’s!

Love Metal Top & Moonshine Jeans

Love, metal, and moonshine. These elements might just sum up my style. A bit of whimsical, feminine charm, mashed with heavy metal and moonshine. This top took a few days to hand sew 189 tiny metal washers to, while the jeans have been through three lengthy processes to achieve the destroyed look I was aiming for. The jeans are the perfect marriage of destroyed and painted denim. While sparkling metal washers swirl delightfully into a heart on an ebony tank top, the names just came with the garment.
