GO Rodarte!

In August, Target partnered with designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte to create the next limited-edition collection for GO International. Since then, I have been anticipating the launch of Rodarte’s 55-piece collection (only 40 items on Target.com so far) sold in Target stores available today through January 31, 2010. Their line features items ranging from tights for $9.99 and a leopard-print motorcycle  jacket for $79.99. The selection was quite limited at my local Target, but I found a few things to take home with me. I purchased the Black Lace Cardigan and the Blue Swiss Dot Dress.

Unfortunately, my favorite pieces from the collection were not available in my local stores and are currently out of stock on Target’s website since noon ET today. I hope to somehow get my hands on the Sequin Rib Cage Dress, Leopard-Print Jacket, and Leopard Sequin Dress. I’m crossing my fingers Target will do another run of the most popular designs, otherwise I might have to break the bank by spending nearly 6 times the retail value on Ebay.

Swan Song

The most fun part of making up my recent sellsheet was coming up with names for each garment (pricing the most difficult). I called this outfit “Swan Song” since it’s elegance reminds me of a swan, or maybe it’s the feathers doing all the work. I have to admit I am a Zeppelin fan and somehow had to make a rock ‘n’ roll reference.

Dream Team

December must be the maddest month — with the holidays closing in and everyone wanting a little piece of you for year-end work, Christmas parties, family obligations, while managing a day job. Yet in spite of all the stress, I am already busy planning my next collection and promoting my current work. My goal for rest of this year is to produce a first class lookbook and press kit. They’re necessary for getting editorial coverage, they’ll help me get my clothes into boutiques, and hopefully my foot in the door of the fashion industry.

Thankfully, I had help from a “dream team” consisting of model Ryann Clarke and master stylist Mary Fortino. Ryann rocked my clothes, they’ve never looked better, and thanks to Mary for doing such an excellent job styling!
