Faces and Places Publication

Lockport’s local newspaper, Union Sun & Journal featured an article about Kramp Kouture in their monthly magazine, Faces and Places. I was featured along with two other young, successful women. Over one month ago the newspaper was seeking local people for a segment called “Thriving Under 30.” I emailed a reporter from US&J a short bio and was selected and interviewed within two weeks. I am so pleased to gain recognition in my town and proud to hold the title given: Fashion Designer.

Behind the Scenes of “A Fashion Affair”

I organized, hosted, and revealed my spring collection at the Historic Palace Theatre in Lockport, NY last Saturday. I could not have asked for a better venue for my show. The theater has an unmistakable charm with its eclectic mix of art deco and Italian Renaissance style decor.

“A Fashion Affair” was 5-months in the making. Lots of planning, organizing, sleepless nights and hard work was put into this event. Over 150 people attended the event and over $1,000 was raised to go towards restoration of the theater. Involved in the show were designers Shana’s Shoe Box, REDSTAR, Buffalo Party Clothing, Sea Hag, and Nature’s Child. Over 35 models participated in event as well as 4 photographers, 3 makeup artists, and 2 videographers. A special thanks to the hair stylists at Hair Chateau and Samantha’s Shears for providing hair styling to all the models.

Over 50 swag bags were passed out to attendees filled with samples and swag from Avon, The Bon Ton, Maybelline, L’Oréal, and Mary Kay. Everyone enjoyed catering from Salvatore’s, Mark’s Pizzeria, and homemade sweets and baked goods. DJ A-Ko (aka Rob Sickelco) voted Best Local DJ in Rochester City Newspaper span music all night.

After the show, Taboo Bar & Grill hosted the after-party until 3am. Local rock act Push Button Theory played while guests enjoyed full patio access and catering.

I spoke to the Palace Theatre’s manager on the phone today and he would like to make the fashion show an annual event. So look out for more updates on the upcoming 2nd annual fashion show!

Nothing Like the Last Minute

The day before my fashion show I have been planning since January, I had a photo shoot with Donald Schwartz of Mfotography in Buffalo, NY and model Tiffany Lacey. Tiffany modeled my also last minute designs. She wore a lace tiered cotton top with a striped skirt and a pink pencil skirt with a rose tube top.

The rose top could not have been possible without Tiffany. We drove to her grandmothers house in Sanborn where I looked through old fabric she was giving away since she is getting rid of her sewing materials. I got lots of beautiful military buttons, lace, and material. You will see those creations soon. I can’t wait to make something wild with them!
